Fishing Report fishtankfacts.com I was fortunate enough to have two excellent fishing experiences on the Frances fleet this summer. While the striper fishing was as good as it gets, the black sea bass and offshore tuna trip was exceptional. I am glad I chose to go on a fishing trip with Capt. Paul and Ray.

The fluke/cbass fishing aboard the Gail Frances was superb. Most anglers brought home two to five jumbo fluke apiece, with a few limit outs. While the biggest fluke weighed in at almost 5 pounds, there were plenty of shorts as well.
On Thursday night, Capt. Ray reported great Striped Bass fishing with almost half of the boat landing nice size Stripers. The fishing was solid all night, and Anglers took fish on every drift. Capt. Ray commented that the Striper fishing was the best in a long time. The Lady Frances departs at 7pm tonight for more good striper fishing.
Crab fishing has been outstanding on the lower bay tidal creeks and rivers this week, with razor clams being the most popular bait. The upper bay has been fair to good, though. A few of the smaller tidal rivers have produced some good catches. Despite the mixed results, Lucas Livingston and his grandfather enjoyed the trip.
Flounder and sheepshead are plentiful. Fishing for these fish on minnow and squid baits has also been productive. Some of the smaller fish are being caught on jigs and spreader bars.
While the action on striped bass has been concentrated on the eastern edge of the shipping channel, chumming has taken center stage at Podickory Point, Love Point, and Swan Point. Using the depth finder, anglers can find suspended fish in chum slicks. The chum slicks are swarmed with two and three-year old striped bass.
Capt. Paul’s black sea bass trip was outstanding
Capt. Paul and crew provided an outstanding experience on a black sea bass trip. He is a longtime professional fisherman and is very knowledgeable of the black sea bass fishing regulations. He also knows how to catch the fish he is after, which makes the trip a memorable one for his customers.
